Invasive Water Lilly, now under control

My parent purchased their property on Long Lake prior to my birth. I live in a home next door to the house built by dad. Mom lives there still. As an LLMD steering committee volunteer I am one of the many that live on or have access rights to Long Lake. I've been on the lake for 45 years.

Long Lake is part of a four-lake Woodland Creek drainage system within the Henderson Inlet Watershed. The flow of the lakes is Hicks to Pattison Lake and Long Lake and then Lois Lake and their associated wetlands in Lacey, WA. From there it passes through St Martins Campus then through a culvert to the NE side of I-5. The water continues on through gulches, creeks and rifts that all join up on the way to South Puget Sound at Woodard Bay.

The charter for the lake management district specifies the goal of our LLMD is to provide education, information, direction & guidance to homeowners with waterfront property and/or access rights to Long Lake in Olympia & Lacey WA. The Management District is divided into 11 neighborhoods, with two representatives for a total of 22 members plus 3 members at large.

Generally, the LMD Steering Committee meets the fourth Thursday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lacey Fire District Three, 1231 Franz St SE, Lacey, WA 98503. Meetings are open to the public.
